"My ex won't communicate."

I hear this concern often.

Sometimes it sounds like:

  • "They ignore my texts."

  • "Everything turns into an argument."

  • "I only get one-word answers."

  • "We can't talk without fighting."

When communication breaks down, it's easy to assume the other person simply doesn't care. Sometimes that's true. More often, though, conflict creates a cycle where each person feels unheard, misunderstood, or defensive. The more frustrated one person becomes, the more the other withdraws—or reacts.

The good news? You don't have to solve the communication problem on your own.

Mediation provides a structured, neutral environment where both people have an opportunity to speak, be heard, and focus on practical solutions rather than repeating the same arguments. Whether you're discussing parenting schedules, finances, property, or ongoing co-parenting concerns, mediation can help move the conversation from conflict to progress.

Not every relationship can be repaired. Not every disagreement will end in complete agreement. But many people are surprised by what becomes possible when difficult conversations are guided by a neutral third party.

If communication with your ex has you feeling stuck, mediation may be a productive next step.

Gemini Mediation & Coaching, LLC helps individuals and families throughout New Hampshire resolve conflict with clarity, dignity, and direction.
